GFN Co-Organizes – Protest: Solidarity with the people of Moria

On Sunday, September 13th, the Groningen Feminist Network organized a solidarity protest with the people of Moria, together with Internationale Socialisten Groningen, Democratische Academie Groningen, Queer Pride Groningen, Decolonize Groningen, Groningen Verwelkomt, Vluchtelingencomité Groningen, Missie050, IDEA, Fridays for Future, Project Keep Dreaming, and others.

We gathered at the Grote Markt in Groningen, in solidarity with refugees of moria, and all displaced people across the world.

On Wednesday a Greek refugee camp, Moria, was destroyed in a fire leaving 13,000 people without shelter or basic security. The camp was already well over capacity. The response from the Dutch Government and European Union to this crisis has been shameful. Dutch muncipalities invited the central Govt. to take in 500 children, but Rutte and his cronies refused.

We demand that both the Dutch Govt. and European Union immediately evacuate all refugees from Moria. No person is illegal! We demand that both the Dutch Govt. and European Union take necessary steps to provide safe passage and secure material conditions for all refugees. Solidarity with all displaced people!
